Lost Twin Lakes

Sunday August 31, 2003

Sunday: What a difference a day can make. After returning from the lakes yesterday afternoon my feet were soaked as were my pants. It was still raining, I was getting cold, so I ended up crawling into my sleeping bag at 6:15 p.m. I wished I had brought a book, instead settled for some map reading and probably fell asleep within the hour.

It quit raining finally, maybe by midnight. When I emerged from the tent there was not a cloud in sight. However there was fog in the valley below which started to work its way up. I dried all my gear out on the rocks and by 11:30 a.m. was ready to go back up to the Lost Twin Lakes to introduce myself to the fish.

The Bubble: Today I discovered another compulsive behavior of Cody. He must at any costs go after the bubble. The bubble: it is a water-filled bubble which I tie 5 foot of leader off of, then my fly. This is usually how I fish lakes. Using a spinning reel with bubble and fly. I would cast, start reeling, anticipating the fish striking, and Cody would jump in and swim after the bubble. At first this was amusing to me. When I could not stop him it got Annoying.

Sunshine does the body/mind good!.

Kenny, here is the original Mountain Dew.

Cody stops briefly from chasing his 151st chipmunk to get in the picture.

Two packs of oatmeal, pack of raisins, granola bar, and coffee. Purina for other.

He never met any water he didn't like.

Upper Lost Twin is nestled in a tight cirque.

You must leave that bubble alone!

If there were other fishermen here, and they had a pistol...

That water has got to be cold.

Dog meet cutthroat.

He sure didn't sit much.
